What happens if I become injured after I enter and cannot participate?
If you cannot participate for any reason, you will have the option to use your registration fee as a donation to the Food Bank of South Jersey or have us roll the fee into next year’s registration for you.

What are the plans in case of inclement weather?
If lightning/thunder is in the area before the start of the event, we will delay the start until it is safe to begin, as long as we can without impacting traffic in town. If the event is ultimately cancelled, runners will be allowed to complete the race virtually, and all rules will apply. You may also use your registration fee as a donation to the Food Bank of South Jersey or have us roll the fee into next year’s registration for you.

What will be required to comply with public health regulations?
This event will comply with guidelines set forth by the state of NJ for COVID-19 public health concerns at the time of the event. Social distancing of 6 feet will be required at ALL times, even while running/walking. At all points of the course, there is width of space available for passing another participant with a 6-foot separation. In instances where social distancing is not possible, face coverings will be needed. Face coverings are not required or recommended when the participant is running/walking the course.

When is Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up?
We strongly encourage you to pick up your bib and swag bag on either Saturday, Sept. 5 between 10 am – 4 pm or Sunday, Sept. 6, between 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at ShopRite of Medford, 208 Route 70 East. This will help lessen the amount of congregating on race day. You may also register for the race at this time and pick up your swag bag after completing the on-line registration.

Where do I pick up my swag on Race Day?
Again, we strongly encourage you to pick up your bib and swag bag during the Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up Times. If you are unable to pick up your packet in advance, you can claim your bib and swag bag on-site between 6:45 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. the morning of the race. If you arrive or register after 7:45, you will be assigned your bib, but you will need to collect your swag bag after the race at the designated table in the parking lot on the way to your car.

Can I register day-of-race?
Yes! However, all race-day registrations must be completed online only. There will be a QR code posted that can be scanned and will take you right to the registration site: The race-day registration fee is $30, payable with a credit card only. After registering, you can claim your bib and swag bag on-site between 6:45 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. If you register the day of the race after 7:45 am, you will be assigned a bib, however, you must pick up your swag bags after completing the course. You can stop by the designated table in the parking lot before returning to your car. T-shirts will be available on race day as supplies last.

What day is the cut off for T-shirt size to be guaranteed?
Register by Aug. 26 to guarantee a shirt in your selected size. There will be a limited supply of shirts ordered in popular sizes to try to accommodate participants who register after that date, but they will be distributed as supplies last.

Can I walk the 5k?
Yes! Walkers are welcome. We ask that walkers start at the back of your group wave to avoid congestion and allow runners to take off. Because this is a chip-timed race, participants’ times will be measured from the moment they cross the start line to the moment they cross the finish line – regardless of people who started earlier or later.

Can I bring my stroller/dog?
No dogs are allowed for this event. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome, and we ask that strollers start near the back of the line to allow runners to make their best times. Because this is a chip-timed race, participants’ times will be measured from the moment they cross the start line to the moment they cross the finish line – regardless of people who started earlier or later.

Will parking be available?
We recommend participants to carpool with family members or people living in your household. Parking will be at Freedom Park ONLY, just across the street from the Medford Township Public Safety Building located at 91 Union Street. No parking will be available at the Public Safety Building to allow room for social distancing.

How can I view the start line and the course?
Yes. Click here

How is the race timed?
Chip timing will be used, and all awards will be calculated based on chip time, NOT GUN TIME due to participants being spaced out in waves. Chips embedded in participants’ bibs allow for times to be measured from the moment they cross the start line to the moment they cross the finish line – regardless of people who started earlier or later.

How will participants be spaced out?
Runners will be assigned by bib number to a group. Designated waiting areas will be available for each group to assemble prior to proceeding to the start line. Participants will be notified of exact plans no later than Friday, Sept. 4.

After the race, how will I learn my time?
The official results of your placement will not be available until all participants have completed the course. Results will be posted at LinMark Sports and on RunSignup as soon as they are available.  We will also text the information to the participants. If you would like your time to be texted to you, please be sure to use your cell phone number during on-line registration.

Will there be food after the race?
Food and beverages will be provided, but they will be offered on a grab-and-go basis. To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, congregating in groups after the race will not be allowed.

Will there be an awards ceremony after the race?
To avoid congregating in groups, we cannot hold a ceremony this year. Overall winners, as well as Age-Group, and Team winners will be notified as soon as possible that day. Emails will be sent to award-winners to provide specific directions for award pick-up. Every 5k participant will receive a finisher medal in the swag bag.

What is a virtual race?
A virtual race can be run (or walked) anytime and anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill. This option accommodates those who wish to participate but are unable to attend for whatever reason. This option has the benefits of time, date, and course flexibility, and allows participants to run however they prefer. Best of all, the virtual race option still contributes 100% of registration fees to the Food Bank of South Jersey!

How does a virtual race work?
To join the virtual race, simply register and choose the Virtual 5K event button. Complete the distance anytime and anywhere, then record your time on our website. Our virtual 5k is based on the honor system, so you can track your time however you like.

What swag and awards are available for the Virtual Race?
Because of the flexibility and honor system of reporting, virtual race participants will not qualify for our event awards. But every participant, even the ones taking part virtually, will receive a T-shirt, swag bag, and finisher’s medal. We will mail your shirt and swag bag to you after Labor Day.  If you need to pick it up prior to that, please email us at info@stampouthunger5k.com

Who can I contact with any other questions?
If you have questions that are not answered on this website, please send that inquiry to info@stampouthunger5k.com, and our race director will get back to you.
